I am 5’8”, 150 pounds and the large fit me beautifully. Very lightweight but I don’t think they’re too thin. Haven’t washed them yet, so I don’t know how they’re going to hold up. You get what you pay for. There’s some ink lines running in the pants, but since I’m just using them for trail riding, it’s not a big deal. I will probably buy another pair. Did I say that they’re comfortable? They seem to be holding the shape pretty well, no knee puckers. About the zipper pockets. I have opened and closed the zippers about 20 times without putting anything in the pocket because I was worried about some of the reviews that were written. They are still working for me. Pockets are not that big, won’t hold my iPhone plus but would hold a few keys and a smaller phone. I only gave them a four because I don’t know how they’re going to wash. Otherwise, I’m perfectly happy with them. UPDATE I bought the gray and I am returning them. The fit is not the same which is typical of this manufacture. Different colors fit different ways.

The reviews caused me trepidation because so many reviewers said the zippers on the pockets were catastrophic failures. I also wasn't sure about sizing, but some reviewers included their height and weight and results of sizing, so I ordered a medium. First thing that I checked were the pocket zippers, since the whole reason I needed new breeches was for a pocket for my cell phone. They are smooth and open and close very easily, several times already. My iPhone BARELY fits in the medium pocket, though, so anything larger WILL NOT fit. Pockets are nice and deep, just not very wide. And the fit is perfect. I am about 5'7", 135-140. These breeches are like wearing pure lycra with a wide, elastic waistband. Very comfortable. Yes, they are "slick" and only the knee patches will help with any grip, but I'm wearing these under parade chaps, so the extremely light weight and feel and comfort are great for that. The medium size could accommodate a little more height (my legs are pretty long) and probably another 10 lbs. in weight, but that's all. I'm slim already, and these do not emphasize anything lumpy or bumpy for me. Quite flattering, although I wouldn't wear them to the grocery store. I guess they are a bit like yoga pants, only with pockets and knee patches, and long to the ankles as they should be. For the price, I think they are an excellent buy. Now, I just got them today so don't know how they will hold up in the wash, but I will probably wash in a net bag on gentle and hang to dry. I would probably buy them again, and I'll try to update in a couple weeks after I've ridden in a couple of parades and washed them.

I ordered these pants looking for a comfortable pair of schooling breeches, chose these because of the knee suede grips (& the color, I love the brown!). However when I tried them on they fit my waist okay but are very loose in the knees, ankles and groin area- very unflattering!
I ordered a medium but I think I would have been better off with a small. For reference I am around 130/135lbs 5'5 and usually wear a 4/6 (AE Jeans) or 27/28 (Levi's shorts). I can wear S in tops but usually need Medium or Large for my pants, which is why I was so surprised when they didn't fit.
Other than the fit they seem nice, however I did not wear out of the house. I live in a very hot FL so finding breathable clothing is important- these did not seem very breathable but they were thin enough that they might have worked.
Other than the knee grips the material is very soft and also very slippery, like typical athletics-wear feel. Personally I am not a fan of that for riding as it makes it harder to grip my legs in leather, I prefer as close to cotton as I can get.
Planning to give them to my sister so I may be able to update later with actual use feedback!!

Overall, I do think they are nice to look at, they have good stretch and the suede knee looked great for riding but I would not buy again. The material is slippery and the fit is unimpressive.

My daughter bought these breeches for herself, and I couldn't believe how good she looked in them. I hate the way breeches look on most people. She told me she bought a larger size so they wouldn't cling to her. I am between sizes, so I ordered a size up. They are super long, which I don't mind because I can tuck them in my boot without them coming out and pull them up to my crouch without feeling like I am overstretching them while riding. They are HIGH waisted which is fine with me. The pockets are deep and have a zipper which secures valuables, like a phone, keys, or money. The belt loops come in handy in case you want to attach something to them. I can't imagine wearing a belt because there is no need to. I wore them all summer long and felt comfortable in them. The weather is cooler now and they still feel comfortable. I have enough room to put thermals under them for the winter. I have been machine washing and drying them, and they come out looking like the day I got them. (My daughter said I am not supposed to do that.) I don't know if everyone would like these because they are "big." I am 5'4" and usually take a L/XL, so I ordered XL. I had a concern with them because the outside seam appeared to be coming apart. I've had them a few months now and they are still like the day I bought them. My daughter bought them in brown, while I bought blue and black. The colors are nice. I love them.
